August 1st was my dog’s birthday and I got out of work early to take her on a date in the Plaza Midwood and Elizabeth neighborhoods of Charlotte. Here’s just a few of the dog friendly places you can go if you are ever in this neck of the woods. Best part is that everything is within a mile walking distance!

We started in Elizabeth at Pet Supplies Plus to buy a new toy for her birthday. I loved that she could sniff all of the bottom shelves to make her own selection. Then we walked across the street to Starbucks where she got a Pupcup and I got an iced coffee for the rest of our walk in the hot sun. We always enjoy doing a loop around the newly renovated Independence Park. It has plenty of grassy areas and great skyline views.

On our way to Plaza Midwood, we stopped at East 8th Vintage shop. I love looking at all the consignment items and she loves all the smells! Plus it was great to get a break from the hot sun. Next we stopped at Sanctuary Imports where Foxy got another treat from the staff who loves dogs and I bought some incense.

After that, we needed some food so we ordered chicken and french fries at Milkbread‘s walk-up stand. They give the best pup cups, but Foxy needed to slow down and she was quite happy to have some scraps of chicken and french fries. We both love sitting on their corner patio feeling the breeze and people watching.

Finally we popped over to meet our friends at the Hop Shop. It happened to be the first Tuesday of the month so they were having a wine tasting and the vibe was super chill. Everyone loved dogs there and she again received more treats.

Fully satiated, we headed home and collapsed in a snuggle on the couch!
Would love to hear some of the places that you like to take your dog for a date!
