When’s the last time you went up into your attic? Both physically and metaphorically. Do you even know what is up there anymore? What secret things have you hidden away or what junk that you’ve forgotten about? Perhaps it is time to revisit it and do a little decluttering. Maybe there are some things you need to bring into the light. Once you do, you may find that it is not as scary or as hard as you thought it would be.
What does this have to do with the stairway to heaven? I’m sure you’ve heard the adage that you can’t take it with you. So it is about examining where your treasure lies and what is keeping you from heaven. Jesus says, “The kingdom of heaven is now.” (Matt 4:17) We can experience heaven or hell on earth. It really is up to you.
