The 3 Free Must-See Online Learning Platforms

Looking to engage your brain, start a new hobby, or build a skillset? Then check out these free online platforms for taking classes in everything from Anatomy to Zhuangzi. No matter what you are interested in, there is a class for that. But most of all, I recommend checking out the health and wellness classes. Choose from yoga, tai chi, quigong, meditation, reflexology, aromatherapy, and a myriad of other self-care classes. And don’t worrry if you don’t think that you have enough time, all courses are self-paced so take as long as you need!

1. Class Central– This is a platform that hosts courses from other websites including Coursera, edx, Udemy, and many more. It combs through all of those websites to find the courses that are completely free. This is nice because it is a one-stop shop to find courses from all the big available platforms for free learning. You can even find courses all over the globe. Based on numerous customer reviews, they create rankings of the top classes to take. I invite you to check out the course Maintaining a Mindful Life.

To give you an example of one of the featured websites: Over 200 universities offer courses on Coursera. Explore their plethora of free courses here. I invite you to check out the Yale course called The Science of Well-Being. If you would like to earn a certificate or degree, you can join with a free trial and then pay a monthly fee from there.

2. Lynda.comYou can gain free access with your library card. If your library does not offer it, try the month long free trial to take a class. A perk with this website is that it offers learning paths grouping courses together in order to lead to a certification. It even includes access to a LinkedIn premium account. I invite you to check out the Science of Compassion series and the Learning Path Support your Mental Health During Challenging Times. What I especially love is that it labels and has direct links to different parts of the video that you may want to advance to and includes an easy sidebar to take notes during the lesson.

3. For many cities, you can also gain free access to Universal Class with your Library Card! I’ve taken numerous courses on this platform. These classes offer you CEUs in over 500 courses. Check out the Alternative Healthcare category for courses to lead to a healthier you!

Every time that you learn something new, you are building new neural pathways…this exercises your brain and keeps it young. Explore these free and convenient opportunities to build your brain today!
