My 5 Favorite Things To Do in Spring

Back in December, I listed a few of my favorite things to help get me through the cold, dark days. Now that it’s spring I wanted to share the things that are bringing me joy in this season. I would love to hear about a few of your favorite things as well!

Planting herbs and vegetables

Seasoning food for the grill or creating fresh salads using plants from my own back deck makes me feel so healthy and connected to nature. There is something about nourishing a life and watching it grow to fruition that is greatly rewarding.

Cutting my hair

Nothing feels so fresh as a new hairstyle and the wind blowing on your neck! Why not re-invent your look a little? I also love to get a pedicure since I will be showing my toes more. This bit of self-pampering makes me not only feel beautiful but makes my body feel loved.

Out with the old and in with the new by hosting a SWAP party

Swap parties give me the perfect reason to declutter and refresh my wardrobe and my house. Not only do I get rid of the old and unused that is creating stagnant energy in my house, but I almost always find something that I have been looking for. This time I found new speakers for my phone, the perfect sized lamp that makes makes my whole place look bigger, and some rocking heels to show off my new pedicure!

Participating in outdoor yoga classes

Spring is the perfect weather, sunny with a breeze and 75 degrees–who doesn’t want to be outside? There’s no mosquitos yet (or very few) and the flowers are in bloom. My sister and I attended the annual yoga at the Knight’s ball park. We laid on brand new yoga mats with a few hundred people in Shavasana. Such a beautiful way to connect to your own body, nature, and others all at once!

Listening to free live music all over town (but especially the National Whitewater Center)

Jamming to some tunes along with my dog, friends, and other locals makes my heart swell! The sunset creates its own light show in the sky and I feel the rhythm move through my body. Watching performers doing something that they love and the fans singing along or swaying with the music in response fills my cup. It feels like the whole world is in harmony in that moment.
