When looking into the fields of energy work and holistic healing practices, there is a whole lot to choose from! More than once I have been asked what sets Healing Touch apart. For me, it is that it requires the same degree of profession as any other practice in the Western medical field. Just as with nurses, doctors, dentists, and therapists, it requires education, practical experience, certification, documentation, and privacy practices.
Certification:
In order to become certified, a Healing Touch Practitioner is required to:
- Pass through 5 levels of training
- Document at least 100 hours of sessions
- Pass a national examination
- Complete a portfolio
- Meet with a mentor for at least a year
- Carry insurance
Best Practices:
HT Practitioners:
- Follow a Code of Ethics
- Receive signed consent
- Operate only within their Scope of Practice
- Keep Confidential Records
