As many are watching the Elite 8 teams in college basketball play-offs this weekend, I thought, “Why not share my own list of the Elite 8 in energy wellness?” So here it goes:
Importance of Grounding
Grounding yourself, feeling connected to your body and the earth, is one of the first steps to any energy practice. Many do this by centering with their breath and taking time to sense their physical connection to the ground.
Clearing Out Toxins
We all have an energy field around our body. It can pick up toxins from our physical and mental environment. It carries anything from germs to negative thought patterns. When we clear out our energy systems, we can release all those destructive thoughts, memories, or emotions that we have been holding onto.
Protecting Your Field
You may have experienced Energy Vampires in your life, whether it was a toxic relationship or an activity that stole your energy. Learning to protect your field is about creating boundaries between what is yours and what is not yours to take on. You can begin with a simple meditation where you imagine a bubble of white light surrounding you–keeping out what is harmful and allowing in only light and love.
Expanding Your Core Light
After you have grounded yourself, cleared your energy field, and imagined a bubble of protection around you, you can then focus on your heart. Imagine your heart’s love growing and expanding outwards, filling your house, your car, your garden, or wherever you are inhabiting. Return to this love, the core light within you, throughout the day to get back in touch with who you are meant to be.
If you have ever taken yoga, then you have probably experienced the way that your body feels lopsided when you do stretches or balance poses with a different leg or arm. Paying attention to the areas that feel out of balance often point out to us a habit that we can change or are simply a message of something that we need to pay more attention to. It is not only our physical bodies that get out of balance, but it is also our alignment with our mental, emotional, and spiritual selves. Energy work is our chance to balance and align not only our chakras but also our physical and relational selves.
After an energy session, many report feeling more connected to their bodies, past dreams, lost loved ones, or God. Several have entered a meditative state during energy sessions. Meditation has been proven to restructure the brain by building new synapses and connections.
Creating an Energy Shift
I can’t tell you how many times clients have come to me looking completely drained and exhausted and then left with a revived energy saying that they felt like they just took a long nap. Others have come in scattered and anxious but left in a calm, zen like state. Whatever shift your energy needs, you can find it by recalibrating your vibration through energy work.
Trusting Your Intuition
Last but not least, energy operates in an invisible realm. When you tap into yours or another’s energy body, you gain information on a different level than what is tangibly observable. The more you practice concentration on energy, the more you will sense the hidden ways that information and wisdom can come to you. If you learn to listen to and trust these messages, then you will grow in your intuitive gifts.
